He was an active member of Infantuna Cidade Viseu for about 7 years, where he played the mandolin and consolidated much knowledge of group and solo music. He won the award for Best Instrumentalist at the International Academic Tunas Festival in Figueira da Foz in 2003, performing an excerpt of Monti’s piece “Czárdás” on the mandolin.
He began studying Portuguese Guitar under the guidance of Master Paulo Soares (Jójó) in 2012, recommended by Master Pedro Caldeira Cabral, where he learned the fundamentals and techniques of the Coimbra Guitar, studying repertoires of various masters such as Paulo Soares, Carlos Paredes, Artur Paredes, Octávio Sérgio, João Portugal, Pedro Caldeira Cabral, among others.
In 2017, he started studying the Lisbon Guitar, focusing on fado accompaniment and guitarradas with masters like Miguel Amaral, Ricardo Araújo, and João Martins, accompanying several fadistas such as Gina, Vera Barroso, Cris Lima, Maria Flôr, among others.
He is currently one of the founders of the Grupo de Fados da Bairrada, performing Lisbon fados and guitarradas.
